Dr. Crosby grew up in North San Diego County and graduated with honors from Duke University. She remained in the Southeast and earned an NIH-funded scholarship to enroll in the Medical Scientist Training Program at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for both her medical and graduate school training. She earned her Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Patho-Biology with a focus on inflammation and Rheumatology. During her clinical training she applied her research to ocular inflammation and developed a passion for treating patients with sight-threatening conditions along with restoring and enhancing vision. Dr. Crosby received many awards during her training and was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society during medial school. Following her internship at Harbor-UCLA, Dr. Crosby completed her residency at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
Throughout her career, Dr. Crosby has been a strong patient advocate and delivered the highest level of care to all of her patients in a variety of challenging settings. Her dedication to the community was evidenced by setting up numerous vision-screening and health fairs during her busy training years. She currently volunteers monthly at Father Joe’s Village Clinic in downtown San Diego. She has acted as a liaison between specialties to enhance diabetes management and eye care among the most under-served patients in Atlanta. Additionally, she has been recognized as a gifted teacher not only to her patients, but also through training rising Ophthalmologists in the art of medicine, eye disease and ethical patient care. She is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSD in the Department of Ophthalmology. Her commitment to medicine extends to research as well, where she is extensively published and has presented at national and international meetings on inflammation, eye disease and uveal melanoma. She continues to consult with nascent companies and research groups on new treatments for corneal disease and uveal melanoma.
Dr. Crosby enjoys the diversity of comprehensive ophthalmology with the opportunity to educate her patients on their condition and listen to their needs. She is well practiced in Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Glaucoma Surgery, Diabetic Eye Disease Management and Treatment, Uveitis and Minor Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery.
Having returned to her San Diego County roots, Dr. Crosby is pleased to continue the practice of providing the highest quality personal medical and eye care in Southern California.
